    After nearly two decades in uniform, he returned to civilian life with a resolve to keep serving society.

    He filed his nomination as an Independent candidate for the 2024 Lok Sabha election from Indore, on a platform of transparency, employment, education and the empowerment of youth and veterans.

    The Nomination Matter

    When his name appeared among the withdrawn candidates, Mr. Jhala publicly stated that the withdrawal did not carry his genuine signature and had not been made with his consent. He raised the matter publicly and pursued it through the appropriate process — as widely reported. (See the Public Record section.)

In 2024, Mr. Dharmendra Singh Jhala — a former Indian Air Force veteran — filed his nomination to contest the Lok Sabha election from Indore as an independent candidate.

As the withdrawal deadline passed, his name appeared on the list of candidates who had withdrawn. Mr. Jhala publicly stated that he had not withdrawn, that the signature on the withdrawal was not his, and that he had given no consent — telling reporters, in effect, that “the signature is not mine.”

By his account, when he went to collect his election symbol he found his name had already been removed from the list of contesting candidates. He shared his version of events publicly, including on social media.

He pursued the matter through the appropriate process, and the episode was reported by several news outlets. This website presents these events as neutral, publicly reported information and takes no position on any question that remains before the appropriate authorities.
